Tiffany Westrich-Roberston is the CEO at the International Foundation for Autoimmune & Autoinflammatory Arthritis (AiArthritis) and is also a person living with axial spondyloarthritis. Prior to AiArthritis, Tiffany was Vice President of an architectural firm in Long Beach, CA and college teacher, both specializing in project management, business development, and creative mind mapping. After her diagnosis with an autoimmune arthritis disease, she decided to utilize her professional skills by translating them to the development and implementation of the nonprofit.
All leaders at AiArthritis are people living with the diseases and who use their professional backgrounds to facilitate conversations between a global pool of patients and other stakeholders so together – as equals – we can solve problems that impact education, advocacy, and research. Tiffany leads several projects within the organization that focus on patient individuality – particularly as it relates to access to care and therapeutic interventions. In 2018 she spearheaded the creative development behind AiArthritis’ award-finalist project, Preparing Patients for Precision Medicine in Clinical Trials, and leads several efforts to teach about the importance – and necessity – to treat to the individual characteristics of the patient. Her key area of interests, in addition to precision medicine and research, include improving patient-stakeholder communication, and helping to ensure all patient voices are counted. |
